Ron A. Decker, CPA
Ron A. Decker, CPA was raised in southern Colorado. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 1979 (major in accounting) from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and his Masters degree (accounting with an emphasis in taxation) from Colorado State University in 1980. He entered public accounting in 1980, working for Dalby, Wendland & Company, PC in Montrose, CO, was a partner in McGuire & Decker, PC, and then had his own firm before forming Decker & Cook, CPAs PC. Mr. Decker has experience in business taxation, including partnerships, LLC’s, corporations, S-corporations and trusts as well as individual income taxation and estate and gift taxation. He also is experienced in Review and Compilation accounting service. He is a certified public accountant in Colorado. Professional associations include: Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Christine E. Neiderhiser, CPA
Christine E. Neiderhiser, CPA was raised in southwestern Pennsylvania. She moved to Montrose, Colorado in 2015 to enjoy the sunshine, beautiful mountains and friendly community. She graduated with a degree in business finance from Saint Vincent College, Latrobe PA, in 1997 and acquired her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Frostburg State University, Frostburg Maryland in 2012. She started her career working in business and industry, and then later pursued her CPA license while she was working in a CPA firm in Somerset, PA. In addition to her expertise in individual and business taxation, Christine also holds the Chartered Global Management Accounting (CGMA) designation. Christine is known and appreciated for her friendly, outgoing manner and her empathy with and commitment to her clients' success. She is married, has two adult daughters and enjoys hiking, biking, gardening and cross-country skiing in her free time. E. Ray Cook, III, CPA
E. Ray Cook, III, CPA was raised in southeastern Utah. He graduated from Grand County High School in Moab, Utah in 1963. He graduated from the University of Utah, Salt lake City, with a Bachelor’s degree in 1967 (major in accounting and minor in economics). After a tour of duty in the US Army, he entered public accounting in 1973, working for a local firm in Ft. Meyers, Florida. He moved to Montrose, CO, in 1977 and worked for Dalby, Wendland & Company, PC. Mr. Cook has experience in business taxation, including partnerships, LLC’s, corporations, S-corporations and trusts as well as individual income taxation and estate and gift taxation. He also is experienced in Review and Compilation accounting service. He is a certified public accountant in Colorado. Jeanne G. Bridges, CPA, Tax Manager
Jeanne G. Bridges, CPA is a Colorado native, born and raised in Montrose. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in Public Accounting from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado in 1998. She went to work for Jim Primm and Associates after graduation where she worked until joining the firm of Decker & Cook, CPAs PC in 2001. Jeanne has experience in business taxation, including partnerships, LLC’s, corporations and S-corporations as well as individual income taxation. She also is experienced in Review and Compilation accounting services. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Colorado. Professional associations include. Paul Metcalfe, Senior Accountant
Paul Metcalfe was born and raised in Madison, WI. After graduating from Madison East High School in 2006, he then attended the Concordia University Wisconsin. He graduated in 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Management and a minor in Spanish. While getting his degrees, he also played football and track and field.
Paula Townsend, Senior Accountant
Paula Sue Townsend was born in Phoenix, but has lived most of her life in Somerset, PA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has 29 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Paula began working for Decker & Cook in the summer of 2017. Paula enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, creating crafts and playing the piano.
Melissa Post, Senior Accountant, MBA
Melissa is a Colorado native, born and raised in the Grand Valley. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business with emphasis in Accounting from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. She attained her Master of Business Administration with an advanced accounting emphasis in December of 2019. Melissa plans to further her education in Accounting, and QuickBooks. Melissa is married has two children, and enjoys hiking, camping, and skiing.
Wendy Payes, Staff Accountant
Wendy Payes, was born and raised in Southern California. She studied at Los Angeles Valley College gaining an Associates Certificate in Accounting before furthering her education at California State University Northridge where she achieved a Bachelor in Business Management with a Minor in Sustainability. Wendy has over 13 years of experience working in both public and private sector finance departments along with 5 years small business management. Wendy is working on becoming an Enrolled Tax Agent and becoming QuickBooks Online certified. In her free time, she enjoys Colorado's beautiful landscapes through outdoor activities such as hiking and camping with her fiancée and two year old son.
